Weekly Coach Check-In: August 7th, 2012

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

Well, school started yesterday, so I’m back being a teacher by day and a Beachbody coach by night. LOL!  I’m also on my last week of the Build phase using Body Beast and I can’t tell you enough how much I love these workouts.  Next, is the Bulk phase.  I’ve previewed all of the workouts and I can’t wait to try them.  They look intense.

I also wanted to share with you something you may have already noticed, the New Superfoods formula for Chocolate Shakeology.  Why did Beachbody change the formula?  Darin Olien and Beachbody’s team of expert nutritionists decided to update the formula with FOUR new Superfoods and a whole host of other improvements.

Over the past 5 years, there have been a TON of new Superfood discoveries and improvements in agricultural sourcing of key ingredients.

What exactly did they change in the new formula?

LESS FRUCTOSE. Yes, fructose is natural. But the bottom line: itʼs sugar.  Beachbody reduced the fructose by about 3 grams per serving and added the super-sweet Superfoods Coconut Flower Nectar and Luo Han Guo.

MORE FIBER. Beachbody increased the fiber count by about 3 grams per serving, thanks to the addition of pea protein.  More fiber is good news, as it will help you feel full even longer, reduce your cholesterol, and improve your digestion process.

• 4 NEW SUPERFOODS.

1.) Moringa is rich in Vitamin C, Calcium, Vitamin A, Protein, Potassium and Iron.  Moringa has anti-inflammatory and anti bacterial properties and is known to promote energy, vitality, athletic performance, and weight loss—while boosting the immune system and protecting against disease.

2.) Coconut Flower Nectar is the sweet, nutrient-rich nectar produced by coconut blossoms. It contains 17 amino acids, minerals, and vitamin C, has a broad spectrum of B vitamins, and is high in potassium, magnesium, zinc, and iron.  It’s also loaded with inulin, a prebiotic fiber, which feeds our intestinal flora and helps boost digestive and immune functions.

3.) Luo Han Guo is said to be 300 times sweeter than cane sugar and could have a positive impact on coughs and other respiratory ailments. And recent research has revealed that it may work as an antioxidant to help eliminate free radicals that can cause serious health concerns.

4.) Himalayan salt is the “healthy” salt, containing more than 70 trace minerals, and may help prevent acne and tooth decay.

• Lastly, Beachbody ALSO incorporated the improvements they made when they launched Tropical:

* More concentrated grasses. They are using grass juice powders. The grasses are first pressed into juices—which allows them to concentrate the nutrients more—then the juice is dried down to a powder.

* Better strain of probiotics.

* No suma root or blue-green algae.

Wow, as you can see Beachbody continues to be the leader in the health and fitness industry.  They not only make great workouts, but are focused on improving your overall health.

Weekly Health Tip:

Sunflower seeds are a good source of heart-healthy fats and fiber, nutrients that can improve cardiovascular health and help mange blood sugar in people with type 2 diabetes.  Sunflower seeds also contain zinc and vitamin E, nutrients that help maintain healthy eyes, hair, and skin.  Sunflower seeds in the shell are a smart snack option for people who are trying to lose or manage their weight, since removing the shell on each seed will slow down your eating.

KEEP DOING YOUR BEST AND INSPIRING OTHERS TO DO THE SAME!!

And 2 favors that I ask:
