Weekly Coach Check-In: February 12th, 2013

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

Well, the big day is almost here for all you couples out there . . . Valentine’s Day!  You know, the day where all the females on the planet get excited to find out how romantic their husbands/boyfriends can be.  It’s also the time of the year when the husbands/boyfriends wait until the last minute and just buy some candy and flowers.  Speaking of candy, that’s exactly what my wife asked for CANDY!  She’s been working out almost every day and trying to eat healthier, but I guess I haven’t rubbed off on her that much . . . oh well.

We are well on our way into February and most, if not all of the wannabe’s have faded.  They’ve come up with some type of excuse like: It’s too hard, I don’t have time, I haven’t lost any weight or my personal favorite, I just want to eat what I want, I don’t care to be healthy.  WHAT?  My guess is that you will not see any of them until January 2014, when they . . . uummmm . . . start all over again.

Are you still hanging in there?  If you’re ready this I assume you are.  Let’s keep it simple, take one day at a time, and focus on making that day your healthiest.  String together a bunch of TODAY’s and see what can happen.

2.) Free Beachbody Account: Here is something that I have not talked enough about. The chance to sign up for a free Beachbody account, and see what the all the craziness is all about.  Find out the benefits from being a member of the Beachbody community.

3.) Not about the Numbers: When talking about health and fitness it seems the only number people want to talk about is the number on the scale.  To be honest that number is not always the best indication of your achievements.  Read this article and find the other numbers that are more important than the one’s on your bathroom scales.

WEEKLY HEALTH TIP: Black pepper should be a staple in your spice rack.  You may think of pepper as salt’s other half, but pepper can stand alone, especially if you have or are at risk for high blood pressure and need to limit your sodium intake.  To get the best flavor, freshly grind peppercorns right before using, since pepper begins to lose its pungent taste and aroma once it is ground.
