Weekly Coach Check-In: December 4th

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

I  hope you survived Thanksgiving without having to loosen your belt a notch or  two.  If you did congratulations! How did  you do it? What was the secret?  How does  it make you feel that you kept your health and fitness on track?

If  you didn’t — what went wrong? Did you fail to plan ahead? Were the  temptations too much? Had you already planned to take a cheat day but then dial  it back in the next day?

And  for those who have some regrets about how you handled Thanksgiving, what are  you going to do differently over the Christmas holidays? It’ll be here before  you know it, and we want to finish 2011 STRONG!

Winter  and cold weather are coming and it makes all those excuses disappear (ice on  the car, ice on the roads, etc. that make going to a gym a total nightmare in  the winter). It’s one of the many reasons why I like working out at home.  And while most people won’t start worrying  about working out until January 1st, this is where we can dig deep and make  some real strides forward while most people are going backwards.  When others are doing the opposite and could
care less about their health and fitness it makes it that much harder to stay  on track.  Don’t fall for it, make this  the holiday where you decide to lose weight and get in great shape instead of  gaining weight and feeling terrible come January 1st.

Weekly Health Tip:

Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable that is beneficial for almost all conditions!  It contains many nutrients (including soluble fiber, foliate, and vitamin B6) that help enhance overall heart health.  Because it’s high in fiber and low in calories, broccoli can also help you lose weight and reduce your risk for type 2 diabetes.  It’s also a good source of antioxidants, including vitamin C and E, lutein, and zeaxanthin, which help maintain healthy eyes, hair, and skin.
