It’s An Hour!!!

I came across this quote a few weeks ago and I began to think about some of the biggest excuses I hear over and over and over again.  One of the biggest excuses that I hear all refer back to one main problem, “I don’t have time”.  Here are a list of some of the most recent excuses dealing with time:

– “I’m too busy”

– “The workouts are too long”

– “There are other things I would rather be doing with my time”

– “I can’t find balance between my home life, my work and my health”



We’ve all heard the importance of exercise.  We’ve all heard that people who exercise regularly are healthier, have more energy, sleep better and are more productive.  Here’s the kicker, there’s overwhelming proof people who exercise regularly are less likely to develop diabetes, heart disease and cancer.  And lets not forget the fact that a healthy body is more . . .AAHH . . . visually appealing.   But when it comes time to actually get out there and start moving, many people have a long list of excuses not to exercise –the biggest excuse . . . many think they don’t have time.

If you’re struggling with a time excuse, I’m here to tell you that I’ve been there myself and so have many others who eventually overcame the “battle of time” and made a lifestyle change.  That’s the key, make a lifestyle change.  If you truly want to lose weight and improve your health, you will make the time and you will make the changes in you diet, your exercise to get the results you want.  The results don’t lie, you feel better, have more energy and can prevent some of the most devastating diseases in our country.  Why would you not want to make the change?  

How can you get past the time excuses and get moving?  Here’s a short list of how I went from, “I don’t have time” to a success story.

1.) Turn off the T.V. — The average American watches approximately 4 hours of T.V. a night!!!  When I decided to make the commitment to a healthy lifestyle one of the things that I decided to do was to cut my T.V. time.  The shows I used not live without became secondary to improving my health and my life.  I’ve never regretted it.

2.) Workout in the morning – I really enjoy working out in the morning, 4:30 a.m. to be exact, because it gives me a great start to the day.  I’ve also discovered that I’ve got more energy throughout the day and don’t have to worry about everyday things getting in my way . . . there’s nothing going on at 4:30 a.m.!!!!  It’s difficult to convince someone that starting your day with a great workout and eating clean every meal will give you more energy and make your day much more productive.  Most people think it makes you tired and sluggish, I know I used to be one of them.

3.) Workout in the evening – Maybe you’re not a morning person and have trouble getting out of bed in the morning.  Find a time, preferably the same one each day, and commit to working out during that time.  No T.V., no phone, no Facebook, no Twitter don’t let an excuse keep you from reaching your goal.

4.) Make in a habit – Every human being on the face of the earth has the same 24 hours available to them each day.  What you must do is to prioritize you time and make time for the things that you value.  At the beginning of the month, take a calender and try marking at least 20 days that month that you are going to commit to working out and have someone hold you accountable.  If your health is a priority you will find time to exercise and make it a priority.  We find time to get on the computer, use our phones and watch T.V. and they have don’t help improve our health and fitness.

Remember, it’s an HOUR a day to change you body and to change your life.
