Weekly Coach Check-In: July 17th, 2012

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

How’s your week going?  After weeks of over 100 degree weather and extreme dry conditions, we’ve now gotten over a week of 80 degree temps and rain.  No complains here.

This week I will be out of pocket for a couple of days as I take on one of the biggest adventures/challenges of my life . . . a three day camp with 1st thru 3rd graders.  It’s my daughter’s first summer camp, so I volunteered to be a chaperone . . . I don’t know what I was thinking! LOL.  No, seriously keep us in your prayers.

I received Beachbody’s newest workout last week, “BODY BEAST” and I plan on sampling some of the workouts before I leave for camp.  I tried Chest/Tris on Monday and I have to say, it reminded me of my days at the gym before I found P90X.  I loved it!!!  It’s definitely not like a P90X or Insanity workout where you are gasping for breath and you heart rate is through the roof, but my chest and triceps were “PUMPED” when I finished.  This workout is a must if you are looking to add muscle.  Again, after I have a chance to run through the workout and the nutrition plan I will write a full review.

Don’t forget teaminternallyfit has several challenge groups going to help keep you motivated and accountable to reach your health and fitness goals.  You can message me for more information or go to and click “Join a Challenge Group” to read more.

New on this week:

1.) P90X Nutrition Guide: Have trouble making sense of the P90X nutrition guide?  Read this article to help you make it simple and work for you.

2.) Willpower: You have the workouts, you want to lose weight, so what’s the problem?  Willpower!!!  Read this article to find out why you don’t have it and how you CAN get it.

3.) Food Myths, BUSTEDHere’s another great article from the writers of Men’s Health magazine and the book “Eat This, Not That”.  The article discusses 8 of the biggest food myths that are running wild in the health community and since many of these questions I’ve addressed with many of you; I thought this article would be a great refresher.  Enjoy.

4.) Sodas and Stroke Risk:  I’ve written on several occasions about the dangers of drinking soft drinks.  The risks include weight gain (even from diet drinks), psychological problems and now they have been found to increase your risk of having a stroke.  I found a great article from Harvard Health Publications of Harvard Medical Schools I wanted to share.

Weekly Health Tip:

Quinoa is high-quality grain that is actually the seed of a plant.  Unlike most grains, quinoa is a complete protein, meaning it contains all the essential amino acids.  Quinoa is also a very good source of magnesium, which helps prevent and manage high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes, osteoporosis, migraine headaches, and mood disorders

And 2 favors that I ask:
1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them. Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow TeamInternallyFit!
2) Also, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site,, (If you buy from the plain Beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!
