Weekly Coach Check-In: July 31st, 2012

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

I hope everyone is enjoying the final days of July and gearing up for a great August.  August is not my favorite month, simply because it means that school is starting and time for me to go back to WORK!!  However, after 15 years in education I’m glad to say that I still love my job and looking forward to another great year.

I recently read a story about being thankful that I wanted to share with you and since I’m trying to teach my daughters the importance of the word “thank you”, I felt this was appropriate.

As the story goes there was a coastal town where large ships and sailing vessels made frequent stops.  In the town there stood a small church, where the pastor was sharing the church’s end of the year statistical report.  The congregation noted the following statement, “Missing at sea: 9”.

Since the congregation knew nothing of anyone lost at sea in the previous year they questioned the pastor’s statement.

He replied, “Well, during the year, eleven of you asked me to pray for family or friends going out to sea.  Because I heard only two of you thank the Lord for their safe return, I assume the remaining nine are still missing!”

This week let’s not forget to say “thank you” for the things we have been blessed with: health, forgiveness, family and friends, the list can go on and on.
