Weekly Coach Check-In: September 4th, 2012

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

Hope everyone had a great Labor Day weekend; maybe you were like me and actually got the day off from work yesterday!  I also hope you didn’t cheat yourself and skip a workout or eat junk food all day.  I’ve meet a few people that can eat a cheat meal and survive while others are doomed to spiral out of control.  Even though I was off work I still managed my 4:30 A.M. workout with Body Beast (Bulk: Chest) and stayed on track with my nutrition all day and I feel great.  No guilt, no regret and no worrying about how I’m going to burn off all those calories.

As I mentioned last week Beachbody has heard the community and the negative comments about the new shakeology super food chocolate flavor (I actually like it) and they have come up with a group of taste testers made up of coaches and shakeology users to work to improve the taste without removing its nutritional value.  I am sad to say I was not chosen, boo whoooo whoooo, well anyway I will keep you up to date about the latest developments as I receive them.

New on this week:

1.) Food Additives:  This article from reveals 6 food additives that could be risky to your health.  Read to find out which one’s you should avoid.

2.) Will Eating Fat Make You Fat?:  For years the food industry has sold us on the fact that eating less fat or “fat free” foods will help to reduce our waistlines.  Is this true?  Read this article to find out how some fats can help you lose weight.

3.) Cheap DVD’s:  Pirated DVD’s are everywhere.  They are cheaper than the real thing but they come at a cost: no support, no guarantee and the possibility they may not work properly.

Weekly Health Tip:

Hummus is a spread made from cooked, mashed chickpeas (garbanzo beans), olive oil, and some herbs and spices.  Because its primary ingredient is chickpeas, hummus is packed with nutrients and can help reduce your risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, aid in weight management and improve mood and memory.
