Weekly Coach Check-In: November 20th

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

Here it comes . . . are YOU ready? . . . Thanksgiving!!!!  Besides Christmas and maybe your birthday it’s the day that most people who have made a commitment to health and fitness dread the most.  Never fear, with the right information and the right support teaminternallyfit members can overcome the temptation, the ridicule and the smell of all that fatty, high calorie, high sodium and sugary food.  On Wednesday I plan on posting some helpful tips to help you stay on track and not suffer a MAJOR setback.  I will also post reasons why you shouldn’t give in because of the work you will have to do to just get back your pre-Thanksgiving weight.  Trust me it’s not worth it. 

I wanted to give a few reminders.  I was told this week that you can still pre-order P90X 2 and get it before Christmas.  I don’t know about you but I can’t wait to dig into X2.  If you’ve seen the preview videos on you know it’s going to be crazy and fun.  Also, next month Les Mills Pumped will be available from and in January the new Shakeology flavor Tropical will be making its debut.   So don’t miss out on these exciting new products, checkout to stay up to date.

Don’t forget to plug in everyday to get support and motivation to help you reach your health and fitness goals, you don’t have an excuse.

New on this week:

1.) New Beachbody Challenge:  Checkout the latest fitness challenge from the #1 home based workout company.  You get your choice of a workout, shakeology and support, with three different packages to choose from.

2.) Your Brain on Exercise: There are numerous studies that indicate the benefits of working out on your body, but I bet you didn’t know working out will make you smarter.  Read this to find out how. 

3.) Where Diets Go Wrong: You have to eat to lose weight, don’t starve yourself.  Read this article to find out how and what you should eat when trying to lose weight.

4.) Weight loss without Nutrition:  You’re not going to reach your health and fitness goals with exercise alone.   Proper nutrition is 70-80% of your progress.

5.) Pre-Workout meals:  Fueling your body and preparing it for exercise is one key to success.  Find out what you should be eating pre-workout.

6.) Post-Workout meals:  The Post workout time is the most important of the day if you’re trying to maintain your health and fitness.  But what should you eat after a tough workout like P90X and Insanity.  Read this to find out.


WeeklyHealth Tip:

Pumpkin is a member of the squash family and it’s an excellent source of beta-carotene and beta-cryptoxanthin, antioxidants that may help prevent arthritis and maintain skin, hair, and eye health.  Pumpkin is also rich in lutein and zeaxanthin, a pair of antioxidants that may protect against cataracts and macular degeneration. Pumpkin is a good source of potassium, a mineral involved in lowering blood pressure and preserving bone health.  Pure canned pumpkin is low calorie vegetable that’s rich in fiber.  When buying canned pumpkin, be sure to buy 100 % pure pumpkin puree rather than pumpkin-pie filling, which has added sugar.
