Weekly Coach Check-In: December 11thth, 2012

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

The countdown to Christmas has begun and the last of the “eating” holidays will be here!  Holiday parties and celebrations are in full swing!  This is the time of year when most people add 5 to 10 lbs of fat to their bodies.  It’s colder, and the daylight hours are shorter, making it difficult to motivate yourself to be as active as other times of year.  There are lots of holiday parties, family get togethers, and events that promote eating fattening foods and sweets.

There is no doubt it’s a struggle for some!  Stay focused, remember your “WHY”!  New Years is right around the corner.  Don’t start 2013 trying to undo what you destroyed from Thanksgiving til Christmas!  Instead, win the battle of the “eating season” and be WAY ahead going into 2013!

Passing along some Beachbody news.  Starting yesterday—Monday, December 10th—Beachbody is  permanently slashing the price of their wellness supplement, Cordastra, from $34.95 to $29.95. This potent supplement supports your immune system, energy, and overall well-being—and is now even more affordable than ever.   To learn more about Cordastra, CLICK HERE

New on this week:

1.) The Worst Fast Foods in America:  Fast food is an American institution. Love it or hate it, it’s a facet of life that we’re not shaking any time soon. The challenge is avoiding the kind of foods that wreak havoc on your waistline, your heart and your health. The list contains the worst to avoid as well as some great alternatives that want have you calling the ambulance after stuffing one of these down your throat.

2.) Physical Fitness: How to Measure Yours: How can you really measure how health you are?  Find out what the 5 components of physical fitness and ways that you can improve.

3.) Mistakes Making You Fat: I’ll admit it; I’m guilty of all of the above.  I always tried to eat health, and for the most part I thought that I was.  Unfortunately, I made the mistake that many people make, brain washing myself into thinking that it really didn’t matter or I’ll make it up later.  This is a list of some things that we all do that help expand our waistlines and deteriorate our health.

WEEKLY HEALTH TIP: Sweet potatoes are starchy, root vegetables that provide a good amount of fiber (especially when eaten with the skin), which helps lower cholesterol, reduces risk of type 2 diabetes, stabilizes mood, and keeps you feeling full, thereby helping with weight loss.  Sweet potatoes are also an excellent source of beta-carotene, an antioxidant that may help prevent and manage arthritis, and maintain skin, hair, and eye health.  They also provide potassium, a mineral that may help lower blood pressure and preserve bone health, and vitamin C, which supports joint health and may help protect against arthritis.

And 2 favors that I ask:
1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them. Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow TeamInternallyFit!
2) Also, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site,, (If you buy from the plain Beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!
