Weekly Coaches Check In – October 9th

I have been doing alot of reading and research on nutrition.  I’m currently reading Tony Horton’s Bring It!, The Great Physician’s RX for Health and Wellness by Jordon Rubin and Discover Wellness by Drs. Bob Hoffman and Jason Deitch.  Education is power and allows us to form our own opinions based on knowledge and our own deductions. (Can you tell I’m a history teacher?)

The more I read and study, the more I realize that everything comes back to nutrition.   Whether it is improving our fitness, improving our health, or improving our quality of life. I t all comes back to what you put in your mouth.  I am taking
some more steps in my food journey.

Everything is leading me to a whole foods, plant-based diet.  My Beachbody coach is putting together a vegan challenge starting November 1st.  It will last 60 days and I will also be telling the team how my new diet has been working for me.

Currently I’m what you call a flexatarian.  I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and small amounts of meat on occasion.

Recent posts on TeamInternallyFit.com:

1.) Food Addiction: I explore the addiction that Americans have to processed foods and how to stop it.

2.) Fear – What are you afraid of?  I touch on the fact that some people are too scared to go in a gym and workout in front of people or a too scared to commit to working out because they may have to change what they eat or they think it’s just too hard.

3.) Shakeology comparison chart – I complied a set of charts that compare shakeology with everything that I could find on the market.  If you see something there that is missing just let me know and I will add it.

4.) Forksover Knives Review – What has happened to us? Despite the most advanced medical technology in the world, we are sicker than ever by nearly every measure.  In this documentary two doctors have spent years researching the foods we eat and present their findings in this documentary.  It will shock you.

5.) 6 Scary side effects of sugar – This article deals with the problem of eating too much sugar and the ill effects it can have on one’s health.

Weekly Health Tip:

Tofu is a soy product that comes in different varieties from soft to extra firm, and is used as a meat substitute in vegetarian meals.  Tofu is made from whole soybeans and rich in protein and heart healthy fats.  It can help prevent and treat cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.  The thing that I like about tofu is that whatever to cook it with, it will absorb the flavor and you hardly notice it’s in your food.  Try it, it’s not that bad.

And 2 favors that I ask:

1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them. Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get
more exposure and grow TeamInternallyFit!

2) Also, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site, www.teaminternallyfit.com, (If you buy from the plain Beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really
appreciate it!
