Weekly Coach Check-In: January 21st, 2014

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

Did you survive the MLK Jr. Holiday weekend?  I was off on Monday and I’ve realized that no matter how dedicated I am, when I get out of my daily routine the consequences can be devastating . . . well, at least really bad.  Why you ask?  First, I tend to eat out on those days, but I’ve chosen my restaurants wisely and for the most part eat healthy, low calorie meals.  Secondly, staying around the house more I find that I do more “grazing” than I would if I was working.  This is mainly because at work I’m always busy and usually don’t have time to think about food.  But that’s one of the MANY benefits of being healthy, a bad eating day want kill my results or send me back to my old eating habits. 

January has been a HUGE month for Beachbody.  P90X 3 became available in early December and my people started the New Year off with X3.  Plus, this month and this month only, BB is offering the X3 and T25 Challenge Packs at an incredible discount.  Both X3 and T25 Challenge Packs will be offered through the month of January at only $180.00 (regularly $205.00).  That’s an unbelievable deal considering you get a great workout, nutrition plan, shakeology and the support you need to get you through the 90 days.

Another reason BB is having a great January is the introduction of a new shakeology flavor, Strawberry.  This is the 3rd flavor in the non-vegan version along with chocolate and vanilla.

Coming in early February BB just announced a new workout from its newest trainer Autumn Calabrese.  Her program will be called the 21 Day Fix and will include a portion control eating strategy that incorporates plastic containers to store your daily food in.  It’s designed to teach you how to eat the correct portions with every meal.

WEEKLY HEALTH TIP: Turkey has become synonymous with the holidays but the tryptophan in turkey helps increase levels of serotonin in the brain.  Serotonin decreased stress and causes feelings of calm, and appears to help with depression and seasonal affective disorder.  As a low-fat, high-protein food, turkey meat keeps you full.  Protein also helps increase your metabolic rate.  Turkey’s lutein content helps stabilize blood sugar and its tryptophan content helps keep your stress levels down.
