Weekly Coach Check-In: February 25th, 2014

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

Today is a blessed day; my oldest daughter Shelby turns 9.  She has grown into a wonderful person, athlete and student.  I couldn’t be prouder.  I also have a 5 year old as well.  Like many parents I want the best for my kids, but the thing I’ve realized is most parents are not paying close attention to the foods and drinks that their children are consuming.  We live in a face paced, junk food and soda world where children are eating and drinking their way to a life of health problems and obesity.  We as parents should take the responsibility to read the labels and educate ourselves on the dangers of these types of foods.  There are plenty of healthy alternatives that even the pickiest eater would enjoy, as parents we need to be proactive and help our family make the right choices.  Checkout the article I wrote this week called “Our Futrue?”.

1.) Gym Membership – Is getting a gym membership the only way to get in shape and lose weight?  No, I’ve worked out at home for 5 years now and have gotten better results than over 20 years in the gym.  How is that possible?  Read and find out.

2.) Our Future? – There is no doubt that we love our children and want the best for them.  So, why don’t we pay more attention to the foods they eat and teaching them to eat healthier and exercise more?

3.) No Motivation? – Everyone lacks motivation at some point in the health and fitness journey, but the ones that are successful are the ones that can push through the difficult times.  Find out how they do it.

4.) Motivation Monday!! – Getting up with purpose and determination . . . even though it’s Monday!!  Start you week off with a “kick”.  Let’s do this!!!

WEEKLY HEALTH TIP: Almonds, rich in monounsaturated fats, they help lower LDL, or “bad,” cholesterol.  They also can improve complexion, regularity and protection against many types of cancers, including a recent study that found it almonds help prevent breast cancer.
