Weekly Coach Check-In: June 12th, 2012

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

Hope everyone had another incredible week.  I hope you are tearing it up and staying focused on your goals.  It’s easy to make goals and they sound good when we tell others.  It’s a whole different ball game to actually make the sacrifices necessary to achieve those goals.

When talking about setting goals, Olympians probably set theirs the highest.  Did you know that Olympian Apolo Anton Ohno has been using P90X2 as part of his Olympic Speed Skating training?  Elite athletes know this is the real deal.  It’s amazing that the same workouts we can do in our living room are the workouts that the world’s best athletes choose for their own fitness and training.  This is a pic of Apolo with Beachbody’s CEO Carl Diakeler.  Carl looks like he could use a few more lessons!! LOL

One of the goals I set over 3 years ago when I started P90X was to get in the best shape of my life . . . no matter what.  I set high goals and expectations for myself and was determined to succeed.

The first goal I set for myself was to workout EVERYDAY!!!  And other than a few planned rest days, I’ve been able to workout everyday for over 3 years.  Some of those workouts have been as long as an hour to as short as 20 minutes.

Now, that commitment meant working out everyday, even on trips, vacations or days when I didn’t feel like it.  Since, we are in “vacation season” I’ve decide to share with you an article that I wrote last year following my vacation.  CLICK HERE for my “Workout on Vacation” article.

Is it a challenge to workout away from home and stay on track?  Absolutely!  But is it impossible?  No way!  It takes planning and determination to follow through, but it can surely be done.  Get those workouts in despite having to make adjustments.  And resist the temptations while at the restaurant — you can survive eating out without the guilt and without the extra pounds that often plague those who eat out!

New on this week:

1.)  The Excuse Zone – Think you have got an excuse to not workout or eat healthy?  Think again, I’ve come up with a list of the most suggested excuses and reasons they just don’t hold up.

2.) Obesity In the Church: Find out why church members, who are supposed to be the example are more likely to be obese than non church members.

3.) My Shopping List – UPDATED: I’ve updated my shopping list to give you more choices for healthy eating.  Enjoy.

Weekly Health Tip:

Kiwi fruits contain as much potassium as bananas, and also contain 1.5 times the daily recommended amount of vitamin C.  It is also rich in Vitamins A and E.  Studies have proven that kiwi-fruits are useful in improving conditions of asthmatic children, and in decreasing the probability of colon cancer by providing a good amount of dietary fiber.

And 2 favors that I ask:
1) If you like the hard work I put into writing my articles and videos, PLEASE help me out by sharing them. Click the share links below them and share them on FB, twitter, etc.  It really helps me get more exposure and grow TeamInternallyFit!
2) Also, remember that the way I benefit from being your coach is that I earn a commission from any Beachbody products that you purchase, as long as you buy them through my site,, (If you buy from the plain Beachbody site I get no credit). It helps with the amount of time I spend answering all your questions and helping you out. Thank you! I really appreciate it!
