Weekly Coach Check-In: January 22nd, 2013

Hey TeamInternallyFit,

I read a great quote this week that I found very appropriate for this time of year, “If you’re tired of starting over, then stop giving up.”  Before P90X and Beachbody came along in March 2009, that would pretty much sum up my health and fitness.  I was overweight, out of shape and didn’t have the answers.  I looked in magazines, books and tried different workouts at the gym.  It seems ridiculous now, but I didn’t understand the relationship between healthy eating, nutrition and physical fitness.  What was I thinking?  Thanks to Tony Horton and his fitness program, not just a workout, but a program I found all of my answer with P90X.  Since then I’ve completed almost every Beachbody workout in the catalog and my level of health and fitness continues to improve, even as I approach my 40th Birthday.  The point is, I decided I was tired of starting over and found something that truly worked.  Believe me it can work for anybody . . . What’s holding you back?

If you love Body Beast like me (my favorite workout . . . don’t tell Tony) Beachbody has just announced a Body Beast app that can be used in conjunction with the Body Beast program.  Sweet, now I can Beast Up on my iphone!!!

A sneak-peek at what’s included:

  • Workout tracker that keeps a tab on your measurements and overall progress.
  • Calorie calculator based on your individual goals.

  • Workout history and more.

New on this week:

1.) My Eating Lifestyle:  I share with you how I finally made the change that changed my life . . . making a lifestyle change in the way that I eat.  I tried intense, extreme workouts only and they didn’t produce the results I wanted, until I put the nutrition and exercise together.

2.) Diet Soda’s Don’t Help with Dieting!!: Study after study has proven that diet soda, not only don’t help with dieting they can also be a detriment to your health and fitness goals.

3.) Whole Grain vs. Whole Wheat – Which is Healthier?:  I’m trying to eat a healthy diet. Is multi-grain the same thing as whole grain? Which is the healthier choice?  I used to ask this question a lot and now it’s one that I get asked a lot.  So, I decide to share with you some thoughts on multi grain vs. whole grain.

WEEKLY HEALTH TIP: The color of fruits and vegetables — blue blueberries, red apples, green broccoli — is caused by natural compounds called phytochemicals. Many phytochemicals are antioxidants, which help prevent the buildup of plaque in the arteries, ensuring good blood flow to the brain — and boosting memory!
